The Christian religion also uses wine during the Eucharist. We can see Jesus Christ at the Last Supper sitting with his disciples sharing bread and drinking a glass of wine. Many denominations believe in the Eucharist, including Roman Catholics and Protestants.

Islamic law forbids wine. Although Iran once had a successful wine industry, it was abolished in 1979 due to the Islamic Revolution. Any alcohol is strictly forbidden.

Wine also has many health benefits. Red wine contains a chemical called resveratrol. This chemical has a cardioprotective and chemoprotective effect in animal studies. Procyanidins are well known to have heart benefits and are most commonly found in red wines. Procyanidins suppress a process in the body that narrows blood vessels.

All wines contain sulfites due to the fermentation process. Some wines have more than others. Sulfites are known to cause problems for people who have asthma.

Everybody knows that wine is healthy for occasional drinking. If you drink one or two glasses of wine a day, it is considered beneficial for your heart. Pregnant women can also drink small glasses of wine every day. It is known to be healthy for the body and a heart healer as it provides a relaxing effect on the muscles and brain.

Excessive drinking of wine can lead to problems and cause health problems if it is constant. It is not good if you drink too much wine due to the high alcohol content in most wines.
